How much does it cost to rent a car in Muscat?
Our cars cost from 9 OMR to 70 OMR a day. Weekly and 4-week rates are lower per day and apply automatically when you rent for 7 or 28 days. Every price is on the cars page.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Not if you have an Omani driving licence and an Omani ID or resident card. Otherwise the deposit is 50 OMR for regular cars and 250 OMR for luxury cars. We keep it 30 days after the rental to settle any traffic fines, then return all of it if there is nothing to pay.
What documents do I need?
Residents need an Omani licence and an Omani ID or resident card. Visitors rent on their passport and an international driving licence. You sign the paper contract the Royal Oman Police require when you collect the car.
How many kilometres are included?
200 km a day on rentals of up to 6 days, 172 km a day from 7 days and 161 km a day from 4 weeks (28 days). For trips to Sohar and around, some sedans can take unlimited kilometres at a fixed daily rate.
Can you deliver the car to Muscat airport or my hotel?
Yes. For rentals of 2 days or more, delivery and collection are free anywhere from Muscat to Seeb: Muscat International Airport, hotels and homes. We deliver to other areas too; the cost depends on the place, so ask us.
Can I drive the car to Salalah?
Yes, with the right car. Long trips such as Salalah, Duqm and Musandam are priced by destination and confirmed by phone, and cars with smaller engines stay local.
Can I rent a car with a driver?
Yes. Our Muscat city tour gives you a car and a driver for 8 hours, fuel included: 50 OMR in a sedan for 3 to 4 guests, 100 OMR in a 7-seat 4WD. Drivers speak Arabic, English, Persian and Hindi.
